For the first time in history the South Korean Government office of the Ministry of Education, Sciences and Technology Public School system received more applications than available teaching positions.  As the fall 09’ school term was the busiest hiring period the school boards have ever experienced KorVia highly recommends all interested applicants to apply early and begin the documents process as soon as possible in order to assure your position for the spring term. Positions will begin closing as early as this November for the upcoming spring term beginning in March 2010.

Get certified. Now that the school boards are receiving more applicants per year than available positions they are in turn becoming much more selective in the hiring process. It is nearly mandate that all public school native English speaking teachers hold a minimum 100hr TEFL certification to be considered for a position. Obtaining your 100hr TEFL certification guarantees you placement, and guarantees a higher salary.
